IGTC Members Set 2026 Priorities and Confirm Management Council at General Assembly in São Paulo

IGTC members met on 18 November for the Annual General Assembly, hosted by the Brazilian Association of Grain Exporters (ANEC) in São Paulo. Members reviewed progress in 2025 and agreed on priorities for the year ahead, with discussions centred on the practical conditions needed to keep global grain trade operating predictably and at scale, in support of global food security.


Members confirmed the following priority areas for 2026:


  • Engagement with International Institutions. IGTC will continue active engagement with the World Trade Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the International Grains Council and other international bodies to reinforce open, rules-based trade and the essential role of grain trade in global food systems.


  • Predictable, Science-Based Regulation. IGTC will advocate for regulatory approaches that are practical, proportionate, and grounded in science, enabling supply chains to function efficiently without adding unnecessary costs.


  • Digital Trade Facilitation. Members reaffirmed support for advancing digital tools such as the IPPC ePhyto and other electronic documentation to modernize trade processes and improve predictability.


The General Assembly also confirmed the IGTC Management Council for 2026:
